Some Properties find their way to the Big Screen
Is there a home in your neighborhood that you think would shine on the silver screen? There are several companies that specialize in assisting filmmakers in the locating of homes that fit in well with the specifications of a particular script.
The most popular types of homes are estates, architectural homes and mansions. The average American house is also very popular for use in films.

Probably the most important feature that a "movie set" home needs to offer is large rooms that enable the crew to maneuver while shooting is taking place.

Home owners whose properties are selected for use in a film can expect to be compensated anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000 per day. (perhaps even more!) The compensation amount depends on both the uniqueness and size of the home and the type of film that is being shot. The casting agent's cut is about 30%.

Similar to selling a home on the real estate market, photos of the home and grounds are the key to getting the attention of casting agents that are scouting locations.
