What Women Desire in New Home Design
An important topic that was discussed during the recent International Home Builder's show was the designing of homes that cater to the needs of women. Women make 83% of this country's spending decisions, a figure which should not be overlooked.
Designer Paul Foresman and Architect Ann Olson presented home building professionals ten "commandments" which should be considered when designing homes around women's needs.

1. Provide ample kitchen storage.
2. Provide back door foyers that feature ample storage.
3. Include built-in closet organization systems.
4. Utilize maintenance-free materials when constructing back yard decking.
5. Lots of windows throughout to provide ample natural light.
6. LARGE kitchens.
7. Workable home office space.
8. Lots of options in the master bath.
9. Incorporate flexibility into the designs.
10. Build-in enough bathrooms.
