Record Sales for Newly-Built Homes in San Diego
Due to low interest rates and powerful demand, the number of newly-constructed homes sold reached its highest peak in over two decades. This time builders are going about it in a different direction. Instead of building all the homes and then trying to sell them, they are building a few homes, show them to potential buyers, get a contract signed with a deposit before building another home. San Diego County was second in the state with almost 15,000 new homes sales, only Riverside County had more with over 26,000 new home sales.
The median price for a home was up last year at $439,000, compared to the previous year of $386,000. Information provided by DataQuick.
