Group Targets Lending Predators
An organization called Americans for Fairness in Lending is a new coalition of civil rights and consumer groups recently started a national movement against predatory lending practices.
Participating organizations include: National Council of La Raza, Consumers Union, NAACP and the Consumer Federation of America.

The coalition's goal is not necessarily to target individual lenders; rather they plan to speak out against the practice of abusive mortgage lending, Rapid tax refunds with high interest charges, excessive late fees on credit cards along with other practices that could be considered unscrupulous and a hindrance to borrowers that want to pay off debt.

One of the group's major focuses is to push for stricter regulations and enhanced disclosures.
