California Public Housing Project Goes Green
In a new state public housing complex, green is the word. There are no utility bills as the place is powered by solar energy. All the landscape is edible! Sage, rosemary and lemon trees cover the grounds. In addition, the residents of the new Solara project in Poway pay 40% below current market value.
In this state, public housing is on the green wave of the future.

This innovative project was designed by a company called Global Green USA. They are a non-profit organization whose mission is to combat global warming and nuclear proliferation. The new complex offers these features:

The buildings are constructed in locations which maximize southern exposures.

Each unit features tankless water heaters.

Energy-efficient dual-pane windows.

Heat reflective roofing tiles.

Air conditioning units which are Freon-free.

Windows placed throughout the units to offer cross-ventilation.

The complex carport roofs feature solar panels which convert the sun's rays in to electricity which powers the entire complex!

Formaldehyde-free insulation which is non-toxic.

Dual-flush toilets which save water.
