Younger Buyers Desire High-Tech Features
Buyers from both Generations X and Y that are born after 1965 grew up during an age of technological advancement; and therefore desire high-tech features in their homes.
The home of the future will be all about technology.

Here are some high-tech trends being seen in new homes:

Solar hot water systems: Solar hot water heaters that use energy from the sun have been in existence for years. The big difference now is the price of these units, which is becoming more affordable. These systems which offer lower water heating costs quickly pay for themselves.

Whole house automation systems: with this feature, the home owners can control many functions of their home via the internet. These systems can do everything from feed the cat to run the washer to monitoring grocery supplies and placing reorders via the internet.

Outdoor theaters: In warm climates, home owners are mounting flat screen TVs by the barbeque. Being able to watch a movie under the stars can be an appealing feature to some home buyers.

Whole house lighting controls: Homes of the future can be equipped with several different types of lighting scenarios such as entertaining, everyday life, sleep time, and away from home security lighting. Owners can have the option of controlling the lighting by way of touch-screen controls throughout the house and remotely via the internet.
