Oceanfront Property: The Pros and Cons
While demand remains high for waterfront properties, the slower real estate market currently offers some excellent deals by the ocean.
Buyers should be aware of the pros and cons of oceanfront homes. Among them are: Premium property prices, higher insurance rates (especially in flood-prone areas), and higher home maintenance cost due to the constant exposure to salt air and moisture. However, there are just as many pros.

Here are five reasons to consider a coastal property:

Ocean breezes make even the hottest summer day feel cooler.

Fewer mosquitoes and other insects as the ocean breezes push these pests inland.

A wonderful environment for children, away from city pollution and a sedentary lifestyle.

Ocean properties will continue to be in high demand and are a great investment either for rental or resale.

Ocean properties offer great exercise potential for people of all age groups.
