San Diego County Home Prices Up Again, Monthly Gain Just 1.2 Percent
Home prices continued to climb in San Diego County in March according to the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Index, released Tuesday; though price growth slowed slightly. According to the report, the median price paid for homes sold in March was up 1.2 percent from the previous month and up 4.8 percent from March 2013. Price growth hasn't slowed as much elsewhere in the state, particularly in San Francisco, where prices soared 10.3 percent in San Francisco in the year through March. That represents the highest year-over-year jump of the 20 cities tracked by the S&P/CS index. San Diego's 4.8 percent annual jump ranked 12th of the 20 cities. The average across the 20 cities was a 5.0 percent rise, and marks the 35th consecutive month in which prices went up. Each of the 20 cities tracked by the measure has shown year-over-year gains in each month since the beginning of 2013, as well.
