REALTORS gather together to help rebuild New Orleans
Today's news is not so much about the San Diego / La Jolla real estate market, but I thought it was a worthwhile posting. It is nice to see realtors coming together and lending a helping hand.

More than 2 thousand realtors and their friends will be donating their time during the upcoming 2006 Realtor conference and Exposition. Realtors will be assisting in a variety of projects intended to improve the lives of the city's residents. Read More


The President of the National Association of Realtors, Mr. Tom Stevens, along with members of the NAR leadership team worked along side fellow volunteers to work on a house in the musician's village. The home is one of 7 that the National Association of Realtors is helping with. Jazz greats Harry Connick Jr. and Branford Marsalis are both honorary members of Habitat for Humanity. Their goal is to construct over 80 homes in the village to enable musicians to return to New Orleans.

Realtors have also helped repaint classrooms and renew landscaping at any area school. The New Orleans library is also getting assistance with the filing of thousands of donated books.

Volunteers are also helping sort out food donations at an area food bank.
