Study shows Baby Boomer population plans to stay put
A recent study of baby boomer home owners age 50 and up want to stay in the homes they currently own for the time being. The study showed a strong desire to "stay put" and plan for improvements and remodels rather than relocation to other homes.

The study of baby boomers was sponsored by The Home Depot. It collected information from over 30 thousand consumers of the baby generation. The results of the study proved positive for The Home Depot, as this gives the company a direct target audience to market to.

Key findings of the study include:

60% of people 50 years and older plan to stay in their current home during the next 5 years.

65% (two-thirds) of this group have plans or hope to remodel or improve their homes.

73% (nearly three-quarters) stated that their kitchens were the room that they wish to remodel or improve upon the most.
