Carlsbad / San Diego - One of the Safest Communities
The Farmer's Insurance group of companies has recently published their third-annual ranking of the safest places to live in the U.S. According to the study, St. George, Utah is the country's safest place to live.


Crime statistics and job loss figures along with risks for extreme weather, environmental hazards, terrorism threats and natural disasters from 379 communities were taken into consideration. The 379 areas were divided into three size categories: large metro areas, mid-size and small town areas.

St. George, Utah has a population of 110,515 put it into the small town group. The town had the lowest crime rate of all along with the lowest unemployment figures.

Here are the results of the study. All areas have 500,000 or more residents.

3. In Nevada, Paradise, Las Vegas area.
