Big Donations Keep La Jolla Growing
One million dollars was donated to the La Jolla Playhouse by Rao & Padma Makineni. The money will go towards the play development center, where celebrations are held for opening nights, as well as, rehearsals.
The Rady School of Management, located at UCSD in La Jolla, received a contribution of five million dollars from Ernest Rady and the Rady Family Foundation. The money will be used toward the second phase of the Rady School Campus construction. This second phase will complete the campus, as well as, create more facilities.

The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation donated a challenge grant of seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars to the Birch Aquarium, located at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla. The Birch Aquarium has already received half of the grant and is now working on raising the other half. All money will be used to champion the growth of the educational program and climate change exhibit.
