Pompeii Comes to San Diego
The San Diego Natural History Museum will play host to, "A Day in Pompeii", on Feb. 15, 2008. The exhibit promises to transport us back in time, two thousand years ago, and show us the day-to-day activities of this legendary city.
In 79 AD, the city of Pompeii was covered by lava, burying its citizens and freezing them in time for over 1600 years. Since that time, a wealth of incredible artifacts have been excavated, giving us a rare view into the culture and the daily activities of these people. Arhaeologist have been able to capture the last moments of their lives, by using plaster to fill in the victim's cavity left in the volcanic ash.

The exhibition boasts over 250 rare artifacts that were found 30 feet under volcanic ash and material. Don't miss out on this rare opportunity. This is the first time these items have been to California.
