San Diego Real Estate Update
Last year the median price for a home may have been down for San Diego, but the Northern regions have already started to climb back up. Rancho Santa Fe and Cardiff by the Sea had the biggest jump with each area increasing more than 7%. Other areas that are showing signs of recovery were Carmel Valley, Solana Beach, Encinitas, La Jolla and Carlsbad.
It is also no surprise that high-end areas such as Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe and La Jolla maintain a very low unemployment rate. However, areas like National City are on the rise. These areas also have hardly been affected by the recent foreclosure nightmare, only three hundred homes have been foreclosed on. Not bad when you consider that over one hundred thousand homes make up this area.

In La Jolla, there have been only thirty eight forclosures, out of more than sixteen thousand homes. In the 92091 zip code of Rancho Santa Fe, there was only one foreclosure. The southeast area of Carlsbad had some of the higher number of forelosures, for the Northern region. The area had over seventy foreclosures out of more than fourteen thousand homes.
