Live in La Jolla? Visit the San Diego Museum of Art
If you live in La Jolla, or in San Diego County, you should have no excuse not to make a trip down to the San Diego Museum of Art to see the Nandalal Bose exhibit. Nandalal Bose was considered to be India's father of modern era art. The exhibit will feature nearly one hundred of the artists' paintings. Most of all, Nandalal was a good friend of Ghandi's and played his part in their fight for independence through non-violence.
The paintings that are coming to the San Diego Museum are taken from the transitional period when India was becoming independent of English rule. Nandalal was India's premier artist at this time. The fact that the paintings are even coming to San Diego is a pretty monumental affair. Until now, the paintings have never been allowed out of Asia.
