Downtown San Diego Condo Owners in Need of New Park Downtown San Diego condo owners may soon have their very own dog park. As of now, there is not one in the area and it
is causing quite an uproar from dog owners in downtown. Currently, some dog owning residents have taken over the public
play area at the ballpark in downtown, by letting their dogs run free, leash free.
The city of San Diego is in talks to possibly add $500,000 to the budget for a leash free dog park in downtown San Diego. Part of
the problem with trying to find the ideal location for the park is just that, location. If the park is too small in size, then grass
becomes overly worn and eventually dies, leaving a muddy mess.
The park is said it would have to cover a full city block, which has many thing, how are they going to find
an entire city block in downtown San Diego. However, there is a location that they have in mind and will decide in
the fall whether it will work out or not. In addition, redevelopment officials in downtown San Diego are also planning to
add eight new parks in the next ten years.
The city of San Diego already provides $11,000 worth of plastic bags for cleaning up after dogs and will continue
to support the growing population of dogs.
