Resident Company Coming to La Jolla Playhouse
In an unprecendented move, the La Jolla Playhouse has recently announced that it will open its door to its first ever resident theatre company. The honor, of being the first, goes to the Mo'olelo Performing Arts Company and the opportunity will allow them to rehearse rent free.
Artistic Director, Christopher Ashley says they will continue this trend of having a resident company, stating, " We are very pleased to give one San Diego Theatre company each year the opportunity to use one of our spaces rent free."

The La Jolla Playhouse doesn't stop with only providing a place to rehearse. They will also make sure the resident company receives access to lighting and audio equipment. In addition, they will also have access to advice on marketing. The La Jolla Playhouse made it clear that it does not interfere in the artisitic direction of the company.

The La Jolla Playhouse is Tony Award winning playhouse, with over thirty productions making it to Broadway.
