Scripps in La Jolla Plays Part in Global Warming Fight
One of the leading experts on global warming, Veerabhadran Ramanathan, is on the path to lead an experiment on how the pollution from Canada, Asia and Mexico are affecting us in Southern Calfornia. What's even more incredible is that in the past, Veerabhadran has done quite of bit of research at Scripps in La Jolla and his findings were published in Nature.
He is currently looking for funding to head an experiment that will give clean burning devices to people living in an area called, Mukteshwar, which is in the Himalayas. The point of the study is to find whether or not doing so would have an overall impact on pollution.

The experiment is called Project Surya and if it works will be called upon to help influence the change to send clean energy cooking devices to hundred of millions of homes throughout the world. Veerabhadran thinks this may eventually give us a couple of more decades to fight global warming.

He is now searching for the funding and has already started by approaching Qualcomm in San Diego, as well as some universities.
