Photographer to Capture La Jolla Marine Life
This week, wildlife photographer Wayne Martin Belger made a visit to
the Birch Aquarium, located in La Jolla. This time, he wasn't visiting
as a spectator, but rather to dive into the aquarium and photograph sea life with his
pinhole camera.
Belger made the dive into the aquarium to capture images of for his next book, entitled "Deep Worlds". The
book will be a collection of photos that demonstrate the beauty of American aquariums. The photos that will
be appearing in his book will be shown in La Jolla at the Device Gallery on from July 19th through September 2nd.
Both of Belger's dives were open to the La Jolla public and were included in the price of admission. Thanks to a specially designed mask, the
photographer fielded questions, while he was inside the aquarium. The 70,000 gallon tank represents
the La Jolla marine life and is also home to several shark varieties, barracudas and a host of other sea creatures. The
aquarium's location overlooks the Pacific and Scripps in La Jolla.
