Celebrate the 4th of July in La Jolla
Guess what time of year it is again, that's right, it's time for fireworks in La Jolla. There is something spectacular about seeing the yearly firework display while sitting on the beach. My favorite spot is off of Camino del Oro, you might be able to find parking in the lot, but more than likely you will have to park up the hill, so get there early. By this time, people will have spent the day, relaxing in the sun. You will see lots of evidence of picnics, volleyball and barbeques.
Here's my favorite spot; after you have found a parking space, go down to the boardwalk and go north of the La Jolla Shores Hotel. I usually sit right in front of the park area, close to the main lifeguard station. From there you will see a stunning show of fireworks coming from La Jolla Cove. You may want to leave the pets at home; in my experience, they are not so thrilled about the display. The show begins at 9 PM on the 4th of July.
