Del Mar Racetrack Has Biggest Opening Day Ever
Hopefully some of you living in Del Mar and La Jolla made it out the Del Mar Racetrack for the largest opening day in its history. More than 43,000 people showed up to watch the races.
It seems that this could be a trend, with nearly 43,000 showing up last year for opening day. The crowd was also the second largest in the Del Mar Racetrack's history. The only time this number was beat happened in the nineties with over 44,000 people showing up.

The racetrack has been entertaining Del Mar residents since 1937. It's a wonderful addition to the city and has had its share of famous people frequent the races. Bing Crosby opened the racetrack by greeting eager fans.
