La Jolla Home Donated to the La Jolla Historical Society
Last week, a La Jolla home was donated to the La Jolla Historical Society. The house is called the Wisteria Cottage and is quite famous around here.
Ellen Clark Revelle donated the La Jolla home, located on Prospect St., that was originally built in the early 1900's. The home will be on exhibition and will also be available to rent for weddings, reunions and other special events.

A couple of years ago, the Historical Society did a ten year lease along with the family. Since then, the Historical Society has helped with ideas to maintain and restore the property to use as a museum and storage for the Historical Society's archives. With the Revelle family's kind generosity, La Jolla history is sure to stay alive.

Ellen is the widow of Roger Revelle, who founded UCSD. In addition, Ms. Revelle's great-aunt is none other than Ellen Browning Scripps.
