Home Prices Fall in Second Quarter
It appears from a report released this week that home prices fell at a sharper rate than ever before, in the second quarter. However, it also is suggesting that the housing market may have bottomed out and the worst may be over.
The National Home Price Index fell more than 15% in the second quarter compared to the previous year. This is the biggest decrease on record.

As reported recently in our San Diego & La Jolla real estate blog, we saw an increase in home sales last month. This is largely due to home buyers purchasing bargain properties that were facing foreclosure.

As of now, the report is suggesting that we are beginning to see some areas start to recover from their real estate woes and this is what has caused prices to fall throughout the nation.
