La Jolla: Parking Board Chair Steps Down
The all volunteer board which is currently at the center of controversy regarding proposed parking alterations in La Jolla will have to appoint o new chairperson.
Peter Wagener, the local businessman who has served as chair person since the board started holding meetings in January of 2005, removed himself from the board after fellow board members expressed concern over whether Mr. Wagener's ownership of a local parking garage posed a conflict of interest to the board's agenda.

Mr. Wagener leaves his position maintaining his belief that paid on-street parking within the village shopping area of La Jolla would bring more serious shoppers to the area, while displacing cars in valuable parking spaces that are not in those spaces to patronize local businesses.

The next scheduled meeting of the board is scheduled for December 19, location of the meeting is yet to be announced.
