La Jolla: Bird Rock Construction Halted for the Holidays
The Coastal Traffic Flow Improvement Project- road construction which has had a direct impact on local Bird Rock businesses has been stopped as of December 8 and will remain halted through the holiday season.
Small business owners along the stretch of La Jolla Blvd. have experienced as much as a 60% decline in revenues as a result of the ongoing project. The purpose of the project is to install roundabouts at intersections, create additional parking spaces, and to upgrade sewer connections.

The Bird Rock Community Council has placed ads in local papers advertising the work stoppage in an effort to attract customers back the area at this most important time of the year. The council is also going ahead with the completion of adding holiday decoration to the business district.
