Strong Opinions Shared by Former Fannie Mae CEO
When the Federal Housing Finance Agency put both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into conservatorship in 2004, Dan Mudd was ousted from his position.
Dan Mudd continues to show interest Fannie Mae and still holds strong opinions regarding the role it plays in today's housing market.

In an interview with Business Week magazine, Mudd stated that he feels that the current role for both Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae is being recreated with disregard to the overall picture of the market.

Mudd states that he feels that there has not been enough debate regarding what we want the system to look like after the current crisis is behind us. He feels that the system is being changed with no regard to how it will operate in the aftermath of this crisis.

Mudd feels that we will once again see a strong and robust housing market. He believes that it is wrong for people to believe that housing prices will never again go down, or never again go up- that is simply not the way the world works.
