La Jolla Concerts by the Sea Faces Shortfall
For over twenty-five seasons now, the La Jolla Concerts by the Sea have been a time-honored tradition at Scripps Park in La Jolla on the Pacific Ocean.
This year, event organizers are facing a financial shortfall in order to get the concert series produced and have asked the local community for its support. The concerts are produced through funds generated by corporate sponsors and revenues generated from the sale of concessions and raffle tickets. To date, only five of this year's eleven performances have received adequate funding.
The organization is looking for six separate donations of at least $2,400 in order to get the remaining 6 performances produced.
The concerts by the Sea are presented from two to four PM each Sunday at Scripps Park in La Jolla. Concerts typically draw from one to five thousand spectators to the village.
The organizers are confident that the needed funds will be raised in time to make the concerts happen this year.
