La Jolla Hosts Tennis Community
The ninety-third annual La Jolla Tennis Championships are being held in the village of La Jolla at the historic La Jolla Tennis Club. The event will host eleven hundred participants.
The 2-week long event is sanctioned by the United States Tennis Association. Championship matches will mark the conclusion of the event on Sunday, July 5.

Founded in 1915, the La Jolla Tennis Club was originally donated by local philanthropist, Helen Browning Scripps. Opened with just three courts, the club now features nine. The seaside location of the courts makes this a popular event for tennis enthusiasts. Players from warm weather climates enjoy competing in the balmy temperatures.

The annual tournament also serves as a win-win for the local economy. Participants not only come to compete, but stay in the village and patronize the local restaurants and shops while they are here.
