San Diego Transit Fares to Increase
Happy 4th of July! In the wake of recent budget cuts, the MTS (Metropolitan Transit System) has announced fare increases which will take affect on Wednesday, July 1.
The cost of a monthly transit pass and fares on some specific routes will increase. Beginning July 1, a monthly transit pass will now cost $72 for an adult pass, $36 for a youth pass and $18 for senior, Medicare and disabled passes.

Routes that will see fare increases are #951, #871/872 and #904 will now cost $2.25, from the previous $1 rate. Downtown trolley zone cash fare will now be $2.50. This new fare is double from the previous price of $1.25.

A RegionPlus day pass will now cost $14, over the previous $11. A monthly Premium Express commuter bus pass will now cost riders $100 instead of $90.
