Renovated La Jolla Playground Once Again Hosts Children
Following a year of planning and construction, the newly-renovated Kellogg Park playground at La Jolla Shores reopened to the delight of many kids on Friday, July 3.
It only took a few minutes after the fences were removed and the playground was once again alive with the sound of happy kids. The new playground features ocean theme. Nearly fifty children anxiously awaited the reopening of the playground.

Kids can exercise their imaginations on personal watercraft, pretending to be lifeguards in the tower, or learn all about wave heights and rip currents. A future addition to the playground will be a life size model of J.J. the gray whale. J.J. gained fame when rescued and rehabilitated by Sea World trainers hear in San Diego.

The playground at La Jolla shores beach has been in the works since the early 1990's. A non-profit organization- Friends of La Jolla Shores spearheaded the fundraising a development of the new playground.

A three-day "community build" was organized to install the new equipment and minimize construction expenses.
