The Lung Association's report found that 42% of Americans reside in 216 counties in which they are exposed to what are considered to be unhealthful levels of one of the three types of pollution which were measured.
Nearly ten percent - 30.4 million Americans reside in 18 counties are exposed to where what are considered to be unhealthful levels of all 3 types of pollution that were measured in the report.
The ten cities with the highest levels of ozone-pollution are:
1. Los Angeles, Long Beach & Riverside, CA
2. Bakersfield, CA
3. Visalia & Porterville, CA
4. Houston, TX
5. Fresno & Madera, CA
6. Sacramento, CA
7. Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX
8. New York, NY & Newark, NJ
9. Baltimore, MD, Washington, DC & Northern VA
10. Baton Rouge, LA
