HOME SALES, PRICES INCHING UPWARD
Compared to November of 2008, home prices in San Diego County are up by 6.6 percent, while the number of sales increased by nearly 18 percent. This past November, the median home price rose to 325,000 dollars, an increase of 20,000 dollars. These increases reflect the large number of short sales and foreclosures. Homes in the higher price ranges don't seem to be selling, as potential buyers seem to be waiting for prices to drop further and for the broader availability of financing.
The overall southern California market saw a November sales decrease of over 13% compared to the preceding month, while showing an increase of nearly 15% over November of 2008. The median price of a home in this area was 285,000 dollars, an increase of nearly 2% over October, but matching the median price of the same month a year ago.

When a home is priced close to market value it is selling quickly. There are pockets in San Diego that are selling with multiple offers within a few days of coming on the market. The great deals go quickly so if you are looking for a home, make sure to get updates because the good homes go fast. www.SearchSanDiegoNow.com
