PRICE OF HOMES TRENDING UPWARD IN SAN DIEGO
The median price of homes sold in the county was up again in February 2010. At a median price of just above three hundred twenty thousand dollars, prices were back to the levels that they were during the better part of 2009.
This median price is higher by 5 ½ % than this past January, when the median was three hundred five thousand dollars, as well as being higher by 13% from February of 2009. January's median was down by 7 ½% from the median price of three hundred thirty thousand dollars in December of 2009.

In fact, last month's median figure represents the greatest year to year boost since early spring of 2005, shortly before the high median of just over five hundred seventeen thousand dollars followed by a low of two hundred eighty thousand dollars in early 2009.

Due to the usual low amount of home sales during the first two or three months of the year, one cannot infer what the number of sales or the direction of prices may be for the remainder of the year.
