SOME TIPS ON CREATING YOUR OUTDOOR KITCHEN
If you are getting ready to make use of your outdoor area by creating an outdoor kitchen, here are some suggestions that you may want to consider.

First, determine how the space will be used. Will it be part of a more personal place in which to get away from it all, or a place in which you will be entertaining family and friends?

When you start to design your outdoor kitchen, it is best if you place the kitchen next to your house. This will make it easier and less expensive to bring utilities such as electricity and gas to the area.

You should look for equipment that will be durable, weather resistant and easy to maintain.

The grill is usually the first item to be selected, and you need to purchase the highest quality grill that fits your budget. This is generally followed by a refrigerator, storage cabinets and counters.

Make certain that all cabinets are made to keep their contents clean and are weather resistant, so that rain cannot enter. Counter tops should remain cool when in the sun. Obtain some samples of materials and colors that you like, set them out in the sun and see if they get hot. Note that, depending on the material, some lighter colors often become hotter than the darker ones. The counter top material should be resistant to stains and grease, and it should be as maintenance-free as possible.

Lighting is very important for evening and night use. Be sure that you have adequate ambient lighting and that you get task lighting, both for the cooking area and the preparation area.
