So-called "Green" features, such as energy efficient appliances, instant hot
water heaters and even solar panels are of utmost importance to those who are looking to purchase a home.
A survey done by a realty company showed that over half of the prospective buyers who responded felt that the "Green" features of a home were somewhat or very important to them as they looked for a home.
The reasons given as to why they felt that these features were important to them was that they are less costly to operate (49 %), while 40 % felt that it also helped with environmental issues.
Some of the additional reasons that they gave for placing a high value on "Green" features were that they would have a positive effect on the health of the occupants (37 %), the fact that tax credits are to be had (12 %) and that the resale value of the home would probably be positively affected.
