Twenty metropolitan areas were surveyed, and, again, San Diego showed the second highest yearly increase of home prices. The highest increase was in San Francisco at 18.3 %.
However, home prices in San Diego were up by only 0.4 % monthly. As sales of homes vary depending on the time of the year, with the most sales usually being in spring-summer season, the index also presents figures that have been seasonally adjusted. Using those figures, home prices in San Diego were down by 0.3 % during June when compared with the preceding month.
California cities, including San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego, had some of the highest annual increases in housing prices and showed more stability than a year ago. Despite being among the areas that experienced drastic price drops, these cities are now among the top four cities with the highest price gains year-to-year.
Although San Diego's housing market has experienced monthly highs and lows, prices are finally beginning to stabilize.
