HOME PRICES UP IN SAN DIEGO
Zillow.com, which is a real estate site did a survey of 125 metropolitan areas, and San Diego showed the greatest appreciation this year over last. Prices were up by 7.8 % this past July over July of 2009.

Eighty-five of the 125 areas that took part in the survey saw a drop in home prices this past July from July a year ago. The values in thirteen areas were the same as last year, while 23 of the areas experienced an increase in values this year over the same month in 2009.

Three California cities, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Jose were among the areas that had the greatest annual appreciation.

Within the San Diego area, the greatest appreciation was shown in Del Mar at 17.1 %, Poway at 13.5 % and Santee at 13.2 %.

The local areas with the greatest amount of depreciation were Rainbow at -14.6 %, Rancho Santa Fe at -9.8 % and Fairbanks Ranch at -9.5 %.
