Best French Toast: Brockton Villa on Coast Blvd. in La Jolla, the 'Coast Toast' is a delightful cross between French toast and a soufflé with the perfect touch of orange. The restaurant has a fabulous view of the La Jolla Cove.
I have 2 favorite soups:
George's Open Terrace restaurant on Prospect in La Jolla has a wonderful soup, "George's Famous Soup" with black beans and smoked chicken.
Girard Gourmet in La Jolla, offers 4 fresh made soups each day and my favorite is the rich and wonderful "Lamb and barely" soup. It is served with some freshly baked bread and makes a perfect combination.
Appetizer: Trattoria Acqua has one of my favorite appetizers; "Prosciutto e Ficchi" has prosciutto, baby arugula, gorgonzola cheese and black mission fig marmalade. It is an amazing blend of flavors.
Salad: Piatti's has an amazing salad "Romana" is grilled Romaine hearts wrapped in Parma Prosciutto and drizzled with a hazelnut vinaigrette. By the way, the "Ravioli Al Limone" is fabulous and one of those special dishes.
Salad: Barbarella restaurant in La Jolla Shores has one of my favorite salads, the Bib & Blue salad with butter leaf lettuce, garden herbs, blue cheese and vinaigrette. The Seared Salmon is great and my husband says it has one of the best hamburgers. Oh, I forgot to mention the hot, crusty bread that is served with your meal.
Spaghetti & the best Meatballs: I love going to Café Milano at Pearl and Draper. I also need to mention the fabulous "Tiramisu" which is so fresh and wonderful.
Panang Curry or Nuah Namtok - I think Spice and Rice on Girard has one of the best Panang Curries with is rich and full flavored. The Nauh Namtok is made will grilled filet for extra tenderness and fresh lime juice, spices and cilantro.
Lettuce Wraps: Sammy's at Pearl and Draper has some great lettuce wraps.
