The big Menorah is out in La Jolla Village as the Hanukah begins today and runs through the 9th, the Menorah will lighted in La Jolla through the 15th. A Menorah is a candelabrum containing seven to nine candles that is used in Jewish worship. Throughout the holiday of Hanukah, a huge and beautiful 7-foot tall Menorah will be traditionally displayed in the heart of La Jolla for all to see.
Celebrate the 33rd December Nights in Balboa Park, a traditional time to celebrate the holidays and the spirit of Christmas amid sparkling lights and colorful decor. Enjoy nativity, Santa, gift shopping, and food & spirits. The highlight spectacle is when a huge Christmas tree lights up in glorious song and music! It is this weekend, 3 & 4 December from 5-10 PM. On December 5th Enjoy the La Jolla Christmas Parade & Holiday Festival. Listen to the music of marching bands and see floats, horses, antique cars, community groups, scout troops, drill teams, and more. It's accompanied by a Holiday Festival & tree lighting ceremony.
Don't forget a San Diego favorite, the San Diego Bay Boat Parade of Lights on the 12th & 19th of December. In celebration of the holiday season, decorated boats and yachts with twinkling lights and colorful decor slowly pass by. Your best viewing spots will be: Shelter Island, Harbor Island, Embarcadero Marina Park, Seaport Village, and Coronado Island. Parade starts at about 5:30 until 8:00PM
Do you know that the "Port of San Diego Big Bay Balloon Parade" on the 30th of December is
America's largest balloon parade? The parade contains huge gas filled balloons and is right here in San Diego. The parade also has floats military marching units, several bands along with some special commercial parade displays like the Weiner mobile, and the Budweiser Clydesdale's and their wagon. Starts at 1600 Pacific Hwy, County Administration Bldg. Downtown, 9:00-11:30AM.
