Tuesday Commute around San Diego Slowed by Dense Fog
San Diego County residents were plagued during their morning commutes Tuesday morning as dense clouds and patches of thick fog moved into coastal and low-lying areas throughout the county. The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory for the area, effective through 9 AM, noting that visibility would be just a quarter of a mile or less in many spots around town. In its advisory, the NWS recommends drivers use slower speeds than normal and leave plenty of distance between their own cars and the vehicles in front of them. The group also cautions against the use of high-beam headlights in foggy conditions as the reflection can often make it harder to see than not having any lights on at all.
