About Carmel Valley

A Developmental plan was initiated in 1974 advocating an expansion of residential neighborhoods. The name was briefly changed to "North City West", but the residents did not cling to the name and it was changed back to Carmel Valley in the early 90's.

Carmel Valley is now host to an assortment of luxury homes, condominiums and apartments. Most Carmel Valley condos were built within the last twenty years and are well maintained and have a modern architectual design. Residents are, generally, executives and professionals who often work in nearby Sorrento Mesa or Sorrento Valley. Its ideal location, just a few minutes away from La Jolla, Del Mar or the famed Torrey Pines Golf Course, adds to the popularity of Carmel Valley's ever-growing real estate market. Also, located nearby is the Torrey Pines High School, which has some of the highest SAT scores in the country, with the majority of its students, continuing their education at colleges & universities.

Although real estate development did not really begin, in Carmel Valley, until the late 80's, the homes are characterized by a modern flair. With its enduring real estate development, Carmel Valley will continue with its rapid growth and high demand for homes.
